I wish I could reverse time
And bring you back to us all
I feel like when you left
You took a piece of the heart with you
Leaving behind a throbbing hole

There are so many things that I will miss
Like when you would come up
And makes the world's greatest Lasagna
Or that one time we had a true grandmother and granddaughter moment
Making cookies in my parent's kitchen together
Your hugs when we would see eachother and leave
To come back another day
And when you would comfort
In the times when someone truly needed it
Like I need it now
I will miss your wonderful smile
And your infectious laugh

There is an empty house left behind
Echoing the memories held inside
The times my mother and I
Would just come down for a visit
And talk
Not worrying about the time passing as we spoke

You are gone
And there is nothing I can do to change it
But you are where you definitely belong now

Reality is harsh and painful sometimes
Suffering and death

Reality is hard

Sometimes you just want to escape
To a place where the suffering stops
And the harsh rules of reality
Just seem to disappear

Dreams can be an escape
If only for a moment
They can fill you with the joy
That you don't get in reality
It can momentarily ease your suffering

But dreams can also be a trap
Filled with your most painful memories
That trap you like a cage
torturing you
Until reality seems better than the dream

Harsh reality
Painful dreams
you are locked in between
and you have to choose
Do you stay in reality
Or choose the everlasting Dream
